Spent Christmas at my Lola's house where there is nothing to do. Nothing that I'm used to doing, that is. No computer, no dvd player (no ROTK EE!), no one to play disc with. But, I had a good time just the same.

On Christmas day, I spent the day helping my Lola cook her famous arroz valenciana (and taking down notes in between steps!) which we served at dinner that evening. And, as there was nothing else to do, I took my notebook and just scribbled away in one corner of the garden.

Happy Christmas!

  • A wonderful chance to sit and just be for a while. You have produced a wonderful memoir of the occasion that will be of great value in later years

  • these are very interesting sketches! I'd like to know what kind of sketchbook/paper you're using. It looks a little like some Aquabee paper I've used before. I like your work, Ulan!

  • I love these sketches. There is something about grandmothers and kitchens that just go together. It looks like you've really captured a beautiful moment and memory. Very nice!
