good things about makati

I don't like complaining too much in general, although sometimes I can't help it like when one's work gets transferred to a place like Makati. But, I have to say, after a month of working in Makati, I've come to like a few things about the move.
1.) I don't really mind the commute too much, even if it's a difference of 1 hour and 20 minutes from my old office. Now, I take a cab to the train station. Train to Makati. Then, I walk 1.7 kilometers to my office in Legaspi Village (near Makati Cinema Square). I don't like riding FX shuttles or jeeps. Besides, I rather enjoy that walk.
The train ride is usually pretty uneventful, except for the occasional push from inconsiderate passengers. And I really look forward to the walk. Going home, I sometimes ride with my friend Karen up to a train station. Or I walk again.
I expect the commute to be more difficult when the rains start. But, right now, things are ok. So far, I've been lucky with my schedule, and I've been able to beat the rush hour consistently.
2) The food. Back in our old office, we were limited to fast food. I dreaded lunch time because it would always be either KFC, McDO, Tapa King, or some other yucky place that delivers. I usually would opt for Sushiya, even if it was pricier, because it's not as junky as my other options.
In our new office, we have more options. Downstairs, we can get lutong bahay food from this cafe. I tried to get lunch from the jollyjeeps once -- galunggong and munggo. The munggo was disappointing. I haven't gotten lunch there again. I just can't get appetized by food in supot, and all of them bunched up side by side in huge baskets. I don't know how to even tell what's in the plastic. So, it's cafeteria food for me, which isn't all that expensive. Still under 100.
3) What I do like about the jollyjeep is their merienda fare. 3pm is turon PM. Here's my colleague enjoying one.

4. I can meet up with my tita for lunch once in a while. =)
