yearenders part two: happy new year!

My uncle and his family arrived from Guam for the holidays, which in itself already was a happy thing. But, add to that the fact that he brought home the stuff I ordered from Amazon, and it's perfect!!! My copy of The Annotated Hobbit
and The Marvellous Land of Snergs
by E.A. Wyke-Smith (the book that JRRT cited as one of his inspirations, if not THE inspiration for writing The Hobbit).
We had prawns, crabs, and a whole lot of other heart-attack worthy goodies for lunch. And this feast came right after my Christmas party with my friends! After lunch, I took my youngest cousin to Powerbooks to buy his presents. I let him choose two books. I let myself choose two, as well. Hehehe.
The next day, the 31st, I met up with some friends based in the south for lunch, last minute shopping at the supermarket, merienda of crepes at Cafe Breton. I got home around 7pm to laze about and read before my cousin arrived with his sparklers and little rockets.

We don't really buy fireworks. We usually just content ourselves with watching the neighbors light up their stash. But, this year, my cousin bought a handful just to amuse himself while waiting for midnight.
His dad was happy just banging on a big batya and dancing like a weirdo in the middle of the street.

What can I say. Wala n'yan sa Guam.
