random stuff

Vitto, my inaanak, with my Christmas pressie: a storybook about a knight and a dragon researching about how best to fight each other, getting together for the fight, and then getting interrupted by a book lady who gives each of them new things to learn. Dragon and Knight learn how to build a barbecue and how to cook barbecues. In the end, they run the best barbecue stand in the kingdom.

Sesame Street kids know this to be...everybody now...coOPeration.

LibraryThing really rocks. I've catalogued a good number of my books and I'm looking to upgrade my account real soon. Maybe by the end of January when I settle my expenses from the holidays.

There's another list-making service on the web. I found out about it from a friend and it's called Listal. You can catalogue not just books, but dvds, cds, and what not, all in one place. So, if you like making lists, head on over there and see if it works for you.

For me, I like LT better. More people on LT. Its database of titles is bigger. And I guess I just didn't feel like encoding all my CDs as well. Maybe next time. I've also tried allconsuming and 43things before, but lost interest after a while. At least LT lets me export my book collection data into an excel file, and I think that's pretty handy.

If you look over to the sidebar, I've put up two LT widgets. Using the tag feature in LibraryThing, I can change which book is featured in my 'current reading' widget; and those that are displayed in my 'reading pile' widget. Nice.

Oh look, my Moo cards arrived some time ago =) Yay.
