sniffoos r us

Been staying home for the past couple of days.

Wrote scripts and read books. I finished two episodes worth of scripts.

I also finished the last book of Earthsea (The Other Wind) and I loved it. My main complaint about the Earthsea novels, especially books 2, 3, and 4, is that they seem to drag on forever until around 10 pages from end where the story reaches a climax and then that's it. The first 90% of the books mostly develops characters. And it's highly introspective.

Of course, there's a lot of wisdom in the narrative -- never mind that it rarely shifts from a flatline plot. And then the story gets exciting when you only have a few pages to go. And then it ends!

The whole set makes for an interesting saga, though. There are dragons!

Now, I've started on The Extraordinary and Unusual Adventures of Horatio Lyle. I just picked it up in Fullybooked cos I was attracted to the cover. Luckily, when I checked the reviews on the net when I got home, they were good. =) And so far, I'm enjoying it. I can't wait to finish it, though, so I can start on a new book.

I have a stack of books (new and not new) to read. I'm particularly excited to sink my teeth into "Here, There Be Dragons" by James A. Owen. I just picked it up in Powerbooks because, er, I was attracted to the cover. Hehehe. And luckily, it has good reviews! The backcover also had glowing testimonials from Orson Scott Card (lotuseater's favorite author) and Kai Meyer, author of the Water Mirror, a book that I really enjoyed.

After that, I think I'll get on with my reread of Eragon and Eldest. I hope I finish Eldest this time! And then, Abarat and Abarat 2!

So many books!!! I'm excited about the break next week. More reading time.

But for now, bed. Good night!

The only problem with doing a cover people like (and THANK YOU!) is that now I have to do the next one!

I hope you enjoy the book.

We do have the same agent, and admire each other's work. I'll see what I can do.
