more of that coptic thing.

Finished another one last Saturday -- a yellow-orange journal for myself. I used twine for the binding and it was hell and a half. I had to work hard to get the needle and the twine thru the thick paper. I pricked my thumb, too. By the time I finished the journal, the tips of my fingers on my right hand were so sore. They felt like I played a steel-string guitar for the first time, left-handed. But, it was worth it. Me like my journal very much! Too bad I can't use it yet. I have another blank book waiting in line for use.
The one on the left is my third coptic journal. Finished it just now. It's for my friend flyderman. I stamped a drawing of a dragon (which I carved out of a rubber eraser some months ago) on the cover. A strip of leather (which I got from the crafts/scrapbooking corner at National Bookstore) is attached to the back-cover and holds the journal shut.
That's it for now.
By the way, I'm playing again. Happily, I was completely pain-free at yesterday's game. Yay!

Congratulations, Ulan, on such beautiful book binding. Have you ever thought of setting up an online shop so that we can share you work? I am a sucker for a beautiful piece of bookbinding.
